The VNA Family Hospice and Palliative Care, and our Jefferson County office of Family Hospice of Punxsutawney provide a wide range of services to the patient and family to maximize the quality of their life. We offer compassionate care, support, and relief so that they can make the most of their time together.
While hospice neither exists to hasten nor to postpone death, it does work to affirm life by providing comfort and dignity for those in the final phase of an incurable disease or prolonged illness.
Palliative care is directed at providing relief to a seriously ill person using symptom management and pain contol measures to provide comfort and maintain the highest possible quality of life.

The VNA Family Hospice and Palliative Care and Family Hospice of Punxsutawney are coordinated programs of medical, spiritual, psychological, and social work services established to allow the terminally ill to remain in their own home surrounded by loved ones, friends and familiar objects.
Payment for services are covered by Medicare, Medicaid and most other private insurances.
Referrals can be made by the patient, family, the attending physician, social workers, hospitals and community agencies.
