Qualifying for the Visiting Nurse Association's Home Health services is determined by the individual's medical necessity for home care under the direction of their doctor.
Referrals are accepted from doctors, family members, friends and community agencies. Once the referral is made, a nurse will visit the patient's home, establish a plan of care, and contact the patient's doctor.
Services are generally covered by Medicare, Medicaid or other third party insurance providers for those who are confined to home do to illness or injury. Free or reduced fee care is available to those who qualify without regard for ability to pay.
