VNA of Indiana County will hold public Flu clinics at Aging Services Social Centers in late September of 2014.
General Flu Vaccine Information:
The CDC recommends those over age 65 or at high risk get their flu shot by October, but even December and January is not too late!
For Senior Citizens:
VNA will bill Medicare Part B, Medicare HMO's: Security Blue, UPMC for Life, Gateway Medicare Assured, Advantra, and UMWA "The Retirement Funds" for seasonal flu vaccine for those over 65 years of age or on Medicare.
VNA can not bill other insurance plans.
Your insurance plan may cover the flu vaccine at your doctors office or a local pharmacy. We recommend that you explore your options.
VNA will give flu shots to age 9 and older. For children under age 9 please contact their primary care physician.
Women who are pregnant should consult their doctor before getting a flu shot.
The Heath and Human Services Subcommittee has not planned a free Flu Vaccine POD (Point of Distribution) for the 2014-15 season.
VNA will not distribute High-Dose/65+, Intradermal, Nasal, or Quadrivalent flu vaccine.
The cost for self-pay will be determined in August.
